Hum.... I hear some might fine corn liquor comes out of your neck of the woods.
James Pepper: There's no law west of Dodge and no God west of the Pecos. Right, Mr. Chisum? John Chisum: Wrong, Mr. Pepper. Because no matter where people go, sooner or later there's the law. And sooner or later they find God's already been there.
Yes, 55 gallon drums. Take the barrels to a store 20 miles away. they fill it up in less than 3 minutes per barrel. I know you have to use a lot more than what I use looking at your setups. I'm just filling 4 feeders and 6 pig pipes.
Check your local graineries, maybe they can put you on a cheaper place. Or find out from the people harvesting it. Finding the barrels any more is a PIA, thanks to the EPA.
Ours is $30-40 a barrel, depending on where we get it and what time of year. The barrel corn generally has a bit too much trash in it for feeders that use spinners, so we buy a couple pallets of corn per season for the feeders at $225 a pallet. We get about a dozen of the 55gal barrels for broadcast baiting and such. I think we have 3 barrels left and will use those to bait hogs on 3-4 stands over then next month. If it's just hogs we're after, we generally pour the corn in post-holes and top it with Hog Wild or something similar in a gel or powder. It lasts longer that way and the pigs make wallows that they come back to even when they have eaten all the corn. We generally lay off the pigs in early April, or earlier if they prove to be spooky.
It’s 6.00 for a fifty pound bag. Expensive to fill feeders anymore.
Is that a fifty five gallon barrel??
Hanco, as an fyi if your're buying 50 ib bags. Buc-ees here gets $4.99 for a 50 lb bag. But I only buy one a month.

"Come, shall we go and kill us venison? And yet it irks me the poor dappled fools, Being native burghers of this desert city, Should in their own confines with forked heads Have their round haunches gored."
Dont know if it makes any difference or not, but be aware that you will have some holes on your property. I've seen wallows 3' deep. We dont want the holes, so we wont use this method.
Just a thought.

I was gonna try this at lease in east Texas. Pigs are coming out of the woods by my house. I expect to go out side and find the yard rooted up any day.

Yeah, the reason I kill hogs is to try and control the damage they do. I'm not going to encourage more damage.
