You guy's have been asking for it and now here it is. Nikon's new BLACK FX1000 rifle scope. This scope comes in MOA/MRAD, 30mm tube, illuminated reticle zero stop and all new laser etched turrets. It had definitely been a hit her at SHOT Show 2018. Another useful tool is the MONARCH 3000 Stabilized. A 3000 yard rangefinder that has Nikon's stabilizer built in to it. Similar to the one released last year except this one goes to 3000 yards on hard targets, approx. 1100 on deer and 2400 on trees. Lot's of other new product's also with MOA/MRAD reticles too. Apparently Nikon is phasing out the nikoplex on their higher end optics.....or at least this is what I'm seeing. Wanted a prostaff 7 3-12x42. Settled for a monarch 3 1" tube

Guy's don't seem to want a Nikoplex reticle so you will see more MOA/MRAD style reticles even for hunting . The BDC continues to do vvery well because of Spot On Ballistic Program. The new product's will make a lot more sense, for example there is a new M-Tactical line that is all 30mm and P-Tactical that is all 1 inch. These are replacing M-223 and P-223 lines. The scopes and glass are much better and still about the same price. I'll have some pic's of these to post this week. No more sticcker's, all laser etched and no more plastic turret caps. I think these changes will really help Nikon out.

I found it hard to believe the "BDC" reticle is "doing well." That's possibly the worst reticle ever designed, and I've never met anyone that liked it.

while BDC sounds cool, the problem is what if you forget the sub tensions? I like fixed markings I think quite a bit better. hell even a mil dot is pretty useful.

My favorite Nikon is an older 2.5-10x44 Monarch X with etched Nikoplex. No frills, built heavy, and tracks right so far.....
Now with even more aplomb

How is that helpful, Mark? I wasn’t trying to be helpful. Just expressing my opinion in a public forum. I find it disappointing that Nikon would discontinue their “plex” reticle so that they can produce more riflescopes utilizing inferior reticle designs. Gay=Disappointing

I liked the 3000 yards stabilized range finder for $400.

I like the BDC....So easy a caveman could use it......Combined with the spot on app...I have made 1st round hits at 750 yrds and 1000 yrds... On a rock the size of a large elk....

Unless I missed it when reading,I think the scope is only offered in SFP. That will be a non starter for most long range hunters and target shooters. I like the reticle, and the illumination though. I will be interested to see how well it tracks, and returns to zero.

Anyone had the chance to use one of the black FX1000 scopes yet? Might be a descent option for the price.
