Hey Gents,

After shipping a rifle to its new owner, the receiving FFL discovered the bolt handle separated from the bolt body.

So I find myself in need of a craftsman near the Berryville, VA area (if possible) to braze a Remington 700 bolt handle onto the bolt body.

I also need an estimate for the job. FedEx manhandled the box, split it open and re-taped it enroute.

Definitely going to be filing a damages claim.

Any ideas you may have are appreciated.

Dan at Accu-tig in Alaska. Good work and worth the effort to ship it.

Otherwise I’m no help for a local guy to braze.

It was quicker and easier to send it to Dan than to do it myself. I rarely, if ever, let anyone else work on my guns. Dan is one of the few I trust.

Did you leave the bolt in the gun, or pack it separately?
