Pharmseller, You recommend Big Game for 7mm-08. I have called 7 local suppliers, and no one has it. Burn chart shows h380 closest with h414 not far from it. Are You saying there is no substitute for Big Game? I try to buy from locals if possible.

I’m not Pharmseller, but I load a bunch of 7mm-08. I like Big Game because it gives me the most velocity along with good accuracy. That said there are several powders that work great in this cartridge. Among them is RL15, Varget, H414, H4895, H4350 and I’m sure some others that I am overlooking. My second choice is RL15 followed closely by H4350.

I just tried Big Game powder today for the first time in my 7-08. I found it to be slower than my RL16 loads. I doubt I use Big Game powder again.

Thanks. So far I have found rl-15 most accurate with 140 gr sgk, but at only 39 grains. No chrono but has to be pretty slow out of 20 in. barrel. I can live with that but Pharmseller peaked my interest with the Big Game suggestion. I still haven't tried rl-15 with 120's yet, but am hoping it shows good accuracy with those as well.

Pharmseller's load was accurate in my rifle. Mid 2700s was what I got out of mine with it. RL16 gives me over 2800 with 140 grain Accubonds and Partitions with just as good accuracy. Varget and 120 NBTs gives me 3000 with good accuracy.
Good luck with your load development.

This is lastround, I found out I was pharmseller after all. Weird.
Big Game is worth the wait. I'm in Oregon, it's plentiful here. Burn whatever you want in the meantime, but get some Big Game.

P What was weird about my post? Since the OP referred to you, I was just prefacing my post. No intent to be weird! Sorry if I kicked your cat!

Thanks Dirtfarmer, I don't want to pay hazmat fee for 1 pound of untested powder in my gun.

I understand and agree.
I picked up a pound, one of 7 pounds of different powders I got with my last order. I already had a couple of pounds in stock. I just added it to an ongoing order; while I'm at it, may as well. Prorates the Haz Mat cost.

Yeah, I only reload for two other rifles and they both shoot good with 4350 so I don't need alot of powder, but thanks for the heads up!

Just got a one pound can of Ramshot Big Game for my newly purchased 7mm-08. Called all over hell in NW Mi & found one can (last one) at Jay's in Gaylord; (80) miles round trip! Working up several different load with 120"s & 140's, but this old fart ain't gonna know results until we see the 50's (probably June here)!!!

I still haven't found big game, but this rl-15 is the cats rear end in my 7mm08. Just shot it with the 120 nbt that wouldn't shoot with varget, IMF 4350, or 4064. 2- 3 shot groups 42-44 grains. 42.5 were 2 groups that measured 9/16 in. Worst was 44 at 1 1/4in.

Hey Remington280, I feel I should thank You for mentioning rl-15 in my other thread. Actually all of the responses have helped. I found I was preoccupied with not being able to seat close to lands, but I just had to find the right powder. I think it was mathman who told me as much.

I tried Big Game in 7-08 with 150's.
velocities were about 100-150fps better than that achieved with IMR4350, but accuracy wasn't quite as good for my Savage 14.

I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally
