Curious as to why we don't see this scoped used/mentioned more here on the forum? Seems like a great alternative for a reliable higher power dialing scope - especially considering the non illuminated version is $1200. Is there a reason why? Is it not up to the standards of other SWFA scopes? Seems like when people look at the new Burris XTR line, Vortex PST 2, Even NF SHV, that this scope would get mentioned more? What am I missing?

I agree, the SWFA HD line, 5-20x50, 3-9x42 and 10x42 have excellent reputations for reliable tracking turrets and the glass is also very good.

Personally, I think when people look to spend that much, they lean more towards Nightforce or the Bushnell Elite hunter. Both have proven track records as well and are priced right in line.

The SS 5-20 is my ace in the hole. It always is repeatable, has really good glass, and has huge elevation range. I love them and highly recommend them. I picked up mine slightly used for $800-900 each. I did recently pick up a used XTRII 4-20 for my 300win mag. Seems like a nice scope but I don’t have any actual use with it yet.

I’ll be glad when SWFA puts zero stops in their scopes.

Nothing new with that scope so it gets passed by. Zero stops would be nice.

Putting a zero stop in a SWFA scope is a ten minute proposition.
