Any old Vietnam snipers around who carried a Model 70? Do you remember DRI SLIDE? It was a liquid lube of Molebidumdisolfide. (MOLY) Was great stuff for keeping the weapon running. I was just going through an old "keepsake treasure box" and found that I still have two containers of it.

Isn't there an aerosol 'dri slide' available now?

Isn't there an aerosol 'dri slide' available now? There may be. I just popped open the cap after shaking it and it's as I remember it. Watery and black. Doesn't feel oily but it sure does lube.

I just checked out the Midway product. It may be the same or similar but mine is at least 50 - 55 years old and in a squeeze bottle that I hope doesn't crack from age.

Yep, that's the stuff. This old dyslectic never did spell well but I'm glad you knew what I was aiming at.

https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-10-4...;sr=8-1&keywords=dri+slide+lubricantThis product has the same color scheme and similar lettering. May be the same manufacturer. Now, mine is aged! 50 - 55 years older in a 4oz plastic container that I hope doesn't crack from age. Besides, I think mine may have been near halfway around the world.

It will run fine with clp oil. Regular gun oil..

That's exactly how it worked. Black hands and working rifle. It tended to get onto everything. Thanks for adding to the conversation

I still have several containers of it. I wasn't a sniper, but had some friends who were. Great stuff, especially on triggers.

I remember that stuff, I used it a bit but got away from it because it made such a mess, got into everything and onto your hands.

I still have two containers of it on my bench. We used it on our adjustable front and rear sway bars on our formula cars.
