I had “never” seen a .270 until 1988....it belonged to a woman! grin

Insecure, 7x57 nut jobs. That would be an oxymoron, would it not?

Man you should have been around when a Close Friend & I traded jabs about rifles, not cartridges.
He liked # 1s with 26" blls and semi beavertail forends. ->-> I called them Cross Ties whistle

I had a Wby Fiberguard ->-> he called Plastic. cry

He asked how long it took my deer to get used to smelling plastic..... grin

I said.... less time than his deer took to get used to CREOSOTE ! laugh

We had a BALL !
Sadly he passed in Dec. 2017 frown

Bells military Lee Enfield based .303 bolt rifles were described by him as being far from what he considered
good taste and decorum...Being the experienced pragmatic man he was, the .303 at times became the prime
weapon of choice in circumstances where his bespoke English and European rifles had failed him.

Disappointing for some 7x57 looneys I know,...but the 7 mm Mauser- M98 combo was not the 'be all-end all'
in Bells eyes... the sheer reliability of DWM ammunition was a major decisive factor that convinced him to use
7x57 as often as he did.

It would be a lot less gay if it were to be necked up to 30 cal.

I don't know, I don't think I've EVER seen 30-03 ammo on the shelf.

Digital dan...was reading capstick not long ago and someone did shoot an elephant with a 270. Took the bullet out of the case and pushed it in backwards for sort of a solid and shot it in the forehead. Sounded like an emergency, guy had to pull the bullet with his teeth while one of his people was being confronted by the jumbo.
