That rifle is begging for a trip to the rifle range. Would be interesting to see what it would do.

I think I have everything here in my shop, but no dies, brass, or loaded 22-250 ammo. I thought I had most cartridges covered until I looked a little bit ago. Thanks for the bump. My mauser book said this was a Sauer 98 carbine receiver.

Have you had it out of the stock to see what trigger it has? is it an adjustable trigger?

Be still my beating heart! It would look good setting next to my Hervey Lovell-bult Krag single shot .22 Maximum Lovell. Old Hervey was quite a fellow.
".22 Varminter" was the copyrighted name given to the .250 Savage case necked down to .22, by Jerry Gebby in the early-mid 30's. (Today's .22-250)

I will take it out of the stock today and check it out. It does have an unbelievable light trigger. I recently sold my 2R Lovell brass and dies.

Out of the stock. The factory trigger has been modified. It has 2 screws added to it. I think one is to control over travel and I'm not sure of the other. PM an email address for a photo.
