Thanks.

Any idea why "XS" differentiates between the 1895 and the 336/1894 with their peep sight?

From the back of the package: WGRS-336 fits Marlin 336, 444, 44 & 1895.

LOL!! The next best thing to having the package myself. Thanks!

Midway has them on sale and I'm going to get one for my 1895 and another for my 1894.

Figure you would have to change the front bead if you went with the WGRS?

Doesn't appear so, but there is some negative feedback on the Williams. The XS seems to be a much better sight, but I am not sure.

I assume because the Williams is aluminum and the XS is steel?

I also see one on ebay and other places called a skinner sight. Mediocre feedback on marlinowners.com......

It looks like the difference between the 1895 and the others has to do with front sight hole spacing.

I got the Williams Fire Sight receiver sight with the click adjustments and fiber optic front sight set from Midway. It was on sale but on back order. Go figure. It took about 2 1/2 months to get it. It fit just fine on my 1894FG. The Williams sights should fit any modern Marlin lever action, but I don't know if the Cowboy models are different.

It is on my rifle now and I really have enjoyed it. I did change out the front sight to a .05 post. The gun shot too good to use that "basketball" of a bead it came with. [Linked Image]
