Bluing is gone. Has the round counter. Buttstock, forearm etc all original no mods etc.
The guy is asking $439.

Eh, probably not so bad these days given no rust and everything else being solid. Back in the 90s, out here, I figured 99s were good for somewhere between 300 and 400, with nicer examples being had at the top. Given that was 20-years ago I could adjust that scale by about 100-bucks, give or take, and say go for it. I've found that there are regional differences in going prices. 99s used to go for about a hundred bucks more up in Oregon. But, as always, try to talk the seller down.

i'd buy it. i haven't found any 99 under 500 for a couple years.

I figure any 99 in good functioning condition is worth $400. Christmas 2016 a fellow came here wanting to sell an EG in 250 for $400 and it sat for about 6 weeks. When I got my Christmas gift from my inlaws I bought it. Turned out to be a pretty nice rifle.No extra holes, had a discolored ring around the butt from a slip on pad. So, $400 guns are out there, and when I see them I usually grab them.
I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.

almost pulled the trigger on the second one but at 399.00 +25 shipping+ my ffl's fees the red rubber but pad killed it for me.i am trying to concentrate on TD models but not having luck.

Tom, that rifle has 99% metal finish. Beautiful! The rubber buttpad came off to reveal the original curve to the buttstock and assembly codes. Since the original style aluminum plates aren't numbered to these guns, I fit one to it and am refinishing the wood.
