Got mine from Whittaker a while back for a great price. 300 win and plans to launch 215 Berger Hybrids. So far have mounted a Sightron stac 4-16x42 on it and just got a Timney for it on fri. Have no faith in the factory triggers from big green. The fit and finish on my sample of one is flawless , now just have to find time to shoot it. Have a 6 day work week till May with mondays off and my local ranges are closed mondays.

The thread is about the 700 REM 700 AWR , why are you pimping other rifles?

Changed out the trigger today ,Timney breaking at 3 lbs, factory was 5 lb average. Stock alone is 2.7 lbs on my scale. Rifle is 9.5 lbs with Sightron stac which goes 23.5 ozs on its own. Did not weight the talley's. About what I wanted a 300 Win mag shooting 215 Bergers to be. Ready to go to a range this morning but the weather did not work out in my favor juat quit pouring and have a full dance card this afternoon.

ordered online, just came in. Here's my impression. It's no mountain rifle, but perfect weight for all arounder. Fit and finish is flawless. Greyboe stock is wonderful, completely different animal from B/C. Much higher quality, paint is perfect. Cerakote is perfect. Can't shoot until tomorrow, and it won't be a formal range session, so can't say about accuracy. But on looks, feels like I just dropped 4K on a custom. Just a beauty. Well done big R. How does this differ from the Custom Shop Alaska Wilderness Rifle AWR of a decade or so ago ?

Hey, don't forget to follow up on the AWR. I'm considering one compared to the 700 (formerly Milspec?) 5r.

I dropped my XCR II .280 into a Grayboe Outlander and with Talley steel bases installed it weighed 7.2#. That's about 1/2# heavier than it is in the XCR II stock. Grayboe stock feels better though imo. Should be real close to an AWR for ruggedness.

Sorry to revive this but was interested in one of these.
How is the cerokote holding up? I went to Cabelas and looked at 3 and the ceracote was chipped to hell around the muzzle. 3 is all they had.

I had looked at these when they first came out. I already have a 700 Ti in 7mm RSAUM or I would have purchased one.
Now, if'n they made one in 6.5 PRC.....
