Anybody using one? I am contemplating buying this scope for deer and fox. I've heard good about the glass, but haven't read anything about the tracking and durability. Thanks, RJ

Have two. As far as tracking and durability goes, I've set them up and have had no issues. They aren't on anything over a 30-06 and I haven't dropped them or banged them around much. Good scope in my opinion. Love the #4 reticle.

My favorite scope. I have 2 and will buy another for a spare. Excellent glass; clear and bright. Somewhat expensive, but WAY cheaper than a Schmidt & Bender 6X Klassik. Made and assembled in the Czech Republic, if it matters. The Meopta version of the #4 reticle is awesome. Bob

Meopta makes excellent products and sucks when it comes to marketing. Without word of mouth by folks in the know, nobody would really know how great their products are

Thanks for the replies guys. The #4 reticle is what I had in mind. I live in Romania and this scope will cost me about $625 + $15 shipping, I know, the Czech Republic is only a few hundred kilo's from here, go figure. Most American scope retailers will not ship internationally, and if so, the cost would be about a wash after I paid int'l shipping and the 25 percent import tax. I have a few of the older Ziess Conquests and if the Meopta's are as good as them, that's good enough for me. RJ

How did this scope do in JB's Rifle Loony low light test? I thought it was in an older edition, and I think I recall it doing quite well, but I can't find it. Edit: I did find this. https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2014/6/24/meopta-meopro-6x-42-mm/

I have ten of the Meopta 6x42's with the No. 4 reticle, just in case they become unavailable or unaffordable. I don't do any long range shooting so my experience is "set and forget." They track to where I want them zeroed and then they stay there. Last year I shot up several hundred rounds of .308 reloads that were lying around with two of them and encountered no issues with them. The rifles I used for all my old reloads are Tikka T3's. No issues with them as well.
I have no idea how well they do with repeated windage and elevation adjustments for long range shooting or how well they serve as a hammer or being dropped on concrete or being run over by a tractor-trailer.
I think they share the main tube with the Meopro 3-9x42 and noted that the 6x42 price went up since the 3-9x42 was discontinued in favor of the 3-9x40.
I tried the plex reticle. The 6x42 No. 4 reticle is a much better No. 4 reticle than the 6x42 plex reticle is a plex reticle.

Can you comment on the quality of glass relative to any other scopes? Say in comparison to an FX3 6x or SWFA SS 6x?I'm guessing it's quite good.

I have no experience with the SWFA SS 6X, or the discontinued Zeiss or Swarovski 6x42's. I have had experience with Leupold M8 6x42, VXIII 6x42 and VX3 6x42 as well as a discontinued Kahles Helia 6x42. The Meopta MeoStar 6x42 is at least as good as the Leupold VX3. It does not match the image of the Kahles, which is so good you want to look through the scope just to look through it.

Thanks GrimJim! A VX3 level of glass is plenty adequate for me.
I'll have to check out a Kahles!

Doug, Would definitely take advantage of that price point for a great scope. I'm sure that you'll let us know if you can swing it with Meopta. Thanks

The Kahles and Swarovski fixed scopes are no longer made. They are pretty sweet though as I have some of both. The Meopta is pretty damn good. I like it better than my FXII 6x36s. The Leupolds are hard to beat as a lightweight scope though.

I like the #4 reticle and think it will be a good scope for a 338 Fed Montana. Only 1.5oz heavier than an FX3, so not bad. The SWFA is a nice scope, but it is heavy and the ^%$!% knobs are ridiculously large.

I have a 6x42 Swarovski and for whatever reason I like to look through it just to look through it as an earlier poster said. It's downside is its reticle which is too fine in the middle and whose thick outer bars don't close in tight enough to the middle.

At least this Meopta will have a good reticle (#4) for what I do.

You're better off with the good reticle. I have a 3-9x42 Meopta and the glass is plenty fine.
