Say you have to carry a Beretta 92 all day, every day while carrying
on relatively normal daily work. What would your non-concealed holster
preference be? Hip, shoulder, one of those tactical thigh rigs, or ???
Normal work would be consist of driving, working at a desk/computer,
visiting construction projects, a lot of walking, occasional running. Oh
and by the way it's a desert climate. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

supperdave,

T LEE is right about the Fobus. But I might take a look at a horizontal shoulder holster. Keeps the gun up and out of the way while sitting and working at a desk.

What kind of luck have y'all had with the Fobus paddel. I bought one off Ebay for my Kimber. It's comfortable and rides good but has one major problem. I can't get the gun out of it. The gun must be pulled at the exact right angle or it ain't coming out. Not what I want when I'm hopping around after almost stepping on a snake. Any ideas?

LSU Fan,

I have had several Fobus paddle holsters. I've used them for Glocks and 1911s. Some have held the gun tighter than others. You might be able to sand or otherised polish the trigger area of the holster which holds the trigger guard to get a lighter draw.

As for an idea. Shoot the snake with your shotgun then draw the pistole! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

Then I have to explain to the game warden why I'm walking around with a shotgun during the offseason. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I'll try the polishing trick.

They work better with some guns than others for some unexplained reason. My Nephew carries his issue Beretta in one frequently and loves it, the one I had for a "J" frame Smith was a PIA, but the ones I have for my Commander and S&W 6906 work like greased lightning. Just don't know.

LSU Fan,
Fobus Holsters are designed to have the gun drawn from a particular angle only. It is a retention thing. (the Israelis designed it right) I carry one of my Glocks in a Fobus. When I first got the holster, I read about it and then practiced. I also practiced gun grab drills with some of my other officers. They could not get it out of the holster. I can now draw the gun as fast as I can any other holster I own. I am very happy with it and it is very comfortable. I will own more of them.

I'll play with it a little more. If I still don't like it, it'll go to the classifieds.

LSU,
You may try Mark Waldon Holsters. His Rattler brand is very nice also.

My everyday holster is an IWB, but you said it had to be a regular belt holster, so I guess that doesn't count.
