Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Mind if I ask whom you hunted with? Some local guides have been taking some really big cats in our neck of the woods.
Nice cat!!
Hunted with friends. Hunting was done in the western Bighorns. And we did come across a couple sets of tracks that were 4+ stride and estimated around 180lbs. Had him treed once but were an hour behind the hounds.
Congrats! Beautiful animal.....definitely on my bucket list! memtb

Congrats on that cat. Any chase details you can share and how close was the shot taken?

Cut fresh track around 1100, we bumped two cats off a 4x4 muley kill site. Cut the dogs loose around 1130 and the chase was on. 3.5 miles later the hounds (2 seasoned and a 1 year old starter, bluetick and walkers) had the cat treed in the bottom of a deep canyon. The cat treed up about 45-45 feet up in a huge cottonwood. The dogs were pulled of, we caught our breaths and set up for the shot. The cat soaked up the first round as it turned 180 on the limb. The second shot hit high shoulder and caught the spine, locking the cat up as she crashed to the ground. Cat was taken with short and light .357mag with 158grn JHP. Packed out the two rear hams, the heart and the caped out hide. pack out was an easy 4 miles, following the creek/canyon downhill the whole way out.
