I'm a Bluegrass man to the bone. I like many forms of music, but Bluegrass and Old Time Mountain music touches something other music just doesn't. I played in a couple bands in the 70s and 80s, but family life changed everything. Now there are very few jam sessions around like there used to be every weekend.
Every year in the Wet Mountain Valley near the town of Westcliffe, they hold two concerts. One is a bluegrass festival and the other is a western music festival. We go to both concerts and really enjoy them. I don't think you can capture that kind of wholesome family fun on a video. Here is a local group that's real popular.

Wind in my hair, Sun on my face, I gazed at the wide open spaces, And I was at home.
Never have been a fan (but have nothing against those who like it.). Had a student once who was head-over-heels for it - had a bit of a speech impediment and always went on about "boo-gas" music. I found it, as I did most of the foibles my students exhibited, unique and endearing.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

Not only a less than minimally educated person, but stupid and out of touch as well.
