Since you seem to like collecting cast iron cookware, thought I'd let you in on a new arrival.
20 quart dutch oven just arrived via ups.
I might not be a collector like you, but I feel I'm one up on you here.
Should be able to put a whole deer hind quarter, 10 pounds of taters, and a 3 pound batch of carrots, a half dozen onions, and few deseeded jalapeno's in there without a problem one.
Oh, a hunting we will go!

Dam...I'm glad I didn't have to pay the frieght on that shipment <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Our Scout Troop has one of those big ole' Dutch ovens. We make four cobblers at once in it. With a cardboard divider inserted while pouring in the mixture we can make four different flavors at the same time. The boys won the cooking contest the first time they used it. When the judges came around the boys lifted the lid and asked " what flavor cobbler would you like". They first judge said "apple" the boy scooped out a spoon full of apple cobbler. Then he asked the second judge the same question. The guy grined and said "cherry". The boy scooped out a spoon fulll of cherry from the opposite side of the oven. The third judge wanted peach and he got it too.

I like the scoop from the center of the oven myself, peachappelcherryblackberry cobbler is pretty good with a hot cup of coffee to wash it down.

Let me know when you get ready to cook that venison hind quarter. It might be worth the trip for those vittles.

Shipping wasn't all that bad considering it weighed 45 pounds. Less then 10 George Washington's (9.97) to truck it from Texas to Iowa. Not everything is big in Texas except for their delays. Ordered it Dec 8, and just arrived last night.
Good viddles will be an understatement.
Two weekends from now we get a bunch of guys together and have are annual end of the season squirrel hunt. I might put the oven to work and see just what she can do then. Only time will tell for sure. I'll need to get it seasoned up before she gets to cook any grub. Maybe we could use it for deep frying some chicken to speed up the seasoning process.
Your cobbler jamboree sounded like a real hit for the youngsters. Not to mention the guy that dug a hole right in the middle!
