What am I missing by using my mid-range Unique and HS-6 revolver loads in 16" Carbines? Besides the obvious velocity increase of H110?

Never been big into handgun/lever loading, as I'm a bolt action looney.

Talking .44 and .357 Mags, with 240 and 158 grain jacketed, at 50 yards and under.

Appreciate your experience on the subject.

Have a 77/44 that goes both ways, dunno why not for a lever gun. Wait....

16" barrel - check
Lever action - check
Peestol cartridge - no check
Cast bullets - check
Mild loads - check
Difference? I dunno

The .25-20 Win. ain't a pistol cartridge either, dunno that matters much.

I am..........disturbed.

Concerning the difference between man and the jackass: some observers hold that there isn't any. But this wrongs the jackass. -Twain

At 50 yards and under I can’t imagine you’re missing out on too much. People hunt with handguns in those cartridges and they do fine, and with the extra speed from a 16” barrel I find it hard to believe you’d notice much of a difference in trajectory or killing power between the loads at the ranges you’re talking about.

This was my thinking exactly. ^^^

Just wondered if I was missing something with this line of thinking?
