Dave, you need either a fixed 6x36 or a 2.5-8x36 on it.

I have two, one set up each way!

I LOVE that configuration!!! 24" 1a profile, handles like a dream!!

I wish they made more of 'em!

Leupold 6x36 will work fine on a Ruger .25-06 AH.

Sweet set-ups. I'm running a swarovski z5 3-18x44 and liking that set-up. The longer tube gives me more latitude to achieve the proper eye relief I wanted.

Leupold 2-7 or 2.5-8 would fit the bill IMO.
