Guys
Sorry to ask such a numb-skull question. I have been looking at alot of Model 64s online, and in alot of the pictures I see what looks like a slight upward "dent" or "bend" in the bottom part of the lever loop, about midway down the loop.
When I go online to see the replacement part on Numrich, their posted picture also seems to show this dent or bend.
Is this standard for the Model 64? Or, have the rifles been dropped, giving rise to the dent.
For those of us who are use to seeing the smooth flowing bottoms of Marlin levers, it looks a little strange.
Thanks, for all info.

Just how they are. Mine is the same.
If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

As far as i know the model 64 was always drilled and tapped for the sidemount receiver sights.

As far as i know the model 64 was always drilled and tapped for the sidemount receiver sights. Do you know when Winchester started to factory d&t Model 94s for receiver sights? I have a 25-35, 15482xx, that is d&t and a 32 WSP, 15783xx, that isn't.

Unless your gun (1948) is a special order, it was not factory d&t. Winchester began to d&t the M94 as a standard feature in 1952 in the 1906400 - 1926800 serial # range....

I went back and double checked on the dates when the model 64 was drilled for a reciever sight. none were drilled in 1933-1934 winchester started drilling in 1935 around s/n 1095000.I also found they started tapping the model 94's at around s/n 1915000. Don

this is what a deer rifle is supposed to look like, mine was made in 1933 and is not drilled and tapped and the forearm is much slimmer than newer models, I really like this model, mine is in 30 wcf.
