Looking at this tomorrow. Seller wants $450. Post 1951 in 300 savage. Go or no go based on these photos? This young man traded with older gent in Bumf#k, WA. A year ago.Now wants to sell for upcoming baby due cash. https://sportsdad60.smugmug.com/Savage-99-300-post-51
It has a cut stock with a recoil pad added, after market D&T for scope mounts, after market sling swivels, so for a collector piece I wouldn't buy it. An EG in 300 Savage is probably the most common 99. If you want a good deer rifle, I don't see how you could go wrong for that price, assuming the bore is in good shape. JMHO

That pretty well sums it up. I wouldn't go a nickel over 450 and would feel a lot better at less- if, and only if, I didn't have a good hunting rifle already.

Thanks Gents. I admire your complete and utter honesty. I had not noticed the recoil pad in the full length picture (was on my phone viewing) THank you!
