This rifle has been my primary whitetail hunting rifle for the past 15 years. It is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned. From a bench rest and using the set trigger (carefully, because it doesn’t take much at all to break it and fire a round) it is easily capable of 0.5” 3-shot and 5-shot groups with the right ammunition. So far, I have found the 139 grain Hornady SSTs to be the best shooting ammo. I am sad to let this rifle go, but it is time for me to move on.

The 7x57 is a legendary round. Far more popular in Europe and Africa, it has a cult-like following in the U.S. W. D. M. Bell popularized it as professional elephant hunter taking over 800 elephants using the 7x57mm Mauser

Steyrs are probably the most accurate out of the box rifles made. I've had some that shot in the 1/4" range with the right factory ammunition.

I would agree with that. Especially with a set trigger. It's probably more accurate than I am.

Years ago I had one in 30-06, incredible rifle. This is a steal, these rifles in 7x57 are few and far between in the USA. The ergonomics are superb.
