I bit the bullet and sent my deposit for a 4 species hunt in 2019. I want a Mt. Zebra, warthog, hippo, and you guessed it......a cape buffalo. My faithful wife will accompany me. We will be hunting with Omujeve Outfitters. Now I can only prepare, count the days, and find some 300 grain Nosler partitions and solids for my 375 Ruger RSM ! Yippeee !

You have chosen well given what I have been told. I almost pulled the trigger as my retirement hunt but headed to SE Alaska for brown bear. Good luck and have fun.

I would go back to Namibia in a heartbeat. No more RSA for me.

Enjoy your hunt.

Omujeve is where Craig Boddington's daughter accidentally shot a tracker that was being attacked by a leopard. Should be some good stories about that if you can get them to talk.

You’ll have to go up north to the Caprivi for hippo and buffalo, I’m guessing they’ll have you hunt the mountain zebra at their main lodge near Windhoek. Mountain zebra is a great choice but if you’re looking for warthog with good teeth it’ll be tough there. I hunted with Omujeve in 2015 and 2016.

I just got home from Namibia. Did a 13 day plains game hunt, Kudu, gemsbok, mtn zebra hartbeest and warthog. Went to the skeleton coast for some fishing and checked out the dunes in the Namib. Was a fntastic trip and cant wait to go again.

Looking forward to your report. My wife and are headed there the first two weeks of June with Shona Safaris. First time in Namibia for us/me. Really an ideal trip for us, fourteen days total with three days enjoying Etosha, a few days on the coast fishing and ATV'ing the sands then the balance hunting with travel days in between. Though I have hunted them all elsewhere, SA and Zim, I will likely chase kudu, gemsbuck, springbuck and, maybe, their zebra of which I have never hunted. An old FN Mauser 30-06 and 168 gr TSX's will accompany. Have fun and good luck.

EdM and Rolly, we look forward to both of your reports with pics, too.

EdM, did you book all of your activities through Shona Safaris and if so, what was the approximate costs for all? Thanks.

I am envious. If you can possibly swing it I would add Greater Kudu, Gemsbok and Cape Haartbeast as the Windhoek area is excellent for all three but especially Kudu. These are free range animals and indigenous although the Gemsbok moved into the area from both the East and the West in the last fifty years or so. You will also see many Springbok. I am not sure about the Caprivi but in the North near Etosha the Black Faced Impala is common although I don't know if they can be brought back.

Yes all through Shona. Their website covers each activity in detail with pricing. I saved a couple grand as the hunt was a cancellation. Our cost is $11k which includes the trophy fees for kudu (rut hunt), gemsbuck and springbuck.
