I'm looking at a Stevens Favorite in .22LR; nice condition but the lever feels pretty sloppy and it doesn't stay tight to the tang when the action is closed; drops open about 1/4-1/2". I've always heard this is a sign of significant wear, although the gun looks really nice otherwise. Wondering the cause of this malady, and the fix? Thanks...

If it is a 1894, I think it is a matter of a plunger, spring, and link.
