"High White Sun" follows Scott's debut novel "The Far Empty". It was described by novelist John Sandford as "The best cop novel I've read in years". It is one fine book.

It's 464 pages of drawing you in and making you wonder where this is going, but knowing that's it's going to be quite a ride. And it is.

Sheriff Cherry has a bunch of bad actors gathering in his county in the Big Bend country of Texas and knows things are going to turn out badly. He's trying to prevent that but with all the players involved it's just not likely to be controlled. It isn't.

A fine book.
