Hi all, I have a Zastava M70 in 9.3x62, it is going to be my new Sambar deer rig, so I want the ability to swap scopes if one is damaged, the scope of choice is an old Leupold var-X11 2-7 using Talley QD rings and bases, can I use the standard base or do I need the extended ones to fit the 5.2” tube length? would be great hear from anyone who has used this combo with a Zastava or Mark X or Rem 798 or similar, I have done a search but hard to find anything concrete, also what height rings did you use? concerned about bolt handle clearance, I don’t have a shop nearby that stocks them so need to get online, so want to make sure I get the right combo.

I have an old Leupold 2-7 on a Mauser. I use the old Warne rings in low configuration. My action is a 1909 Argentine Mauser , it has a custom bolt handle.
I believe the Zastava bolt will clear low rings. Maybe a Zastava owner will weigh in?

With the 2-7 Leupold you will have little to no for and aft adjustment, it does fit and is perfect for me. YMMV

thanks for the reply,nice looking gun!, what calibre? the front base on the Talley’s seems to position the ring a bit further back than the warn’s so might have a bit more room, I believe the vx11 and vx2 all had the same tube so anyone who has used one of those feel free to contribute.
