Question for the Ruger collectors. Found a Blackhawk made in 1958 in the yellow box & was wandering if Ruger wrote the serial number on the back of box. This one does not have it so there really isn't any proof to saying it is original to the gun. thanks in advance...

For what it’s worth. I have a 1984 Redhawk that I KNOW has the original yellow box; no serial number on the box!

The 1958 Models all came in the Red & Black box. The yellow boxes didn’t come out until the early 1970’s, I believe.

Thanks guys! Was kinda thinking it was a little early for the yellow/black box. he had two early (1958/59) Blackhawks, both in the yellow boxes. the revolvers where even a little suspicious as I didn't see any of the plum colored finish they seem to get at that age.
