Feeling spry today. Walked the dogs and just ate breakfast. I'll let that digest a bit then head to the basement for a long session of conditioning.

Upper body today. Probably take the mutt to the lake tomorrow and watch him swim.

Just got our mutts home. Went as far south as the redwoods in NoCal. Fishing, hiking, camped every night, etc. Dogs had a lot of fun. However I failed to catch a [bleep] surf perch. This shall not stand.

Favorite coastal town- Port Orford. I gotta do a boat launch/retrieve from there someday. smile No dock or ramps or or the like; they use big freaking cranes to raise/lower boats. Into the Pacific. This is a cove, located just a bit north of the "crane port", from whence the CG used to launch rescue boats. So that's a .gov concrete buttress you see there to create a really slick entry into the ocean in the foreground. [Linked Image]

Mike,
Went up Hunter Gulch and it was mostly dry or muddy until dropping along the ridge into Big Log Gulch. The trail was then snow packed but good footing without MicroSpikes.
Then going up Big Log it was again mostly dry/mud until the canyon for the climb to Kennedy Springs. It was pretty heavy snow pack there which looked like a good turn around point, which is what we did.

I was thinking the same thing.
You’d probably need snowshoes today!

I envy the guys on snowshoes. Cranked out 400 calories on the arm bike today, this cardio with upper body only is getting old......

No snow here, we've got that going for us. Beets are sprouting in the garden.

More snow and freezing rain here on the Western front of the Twin Chities. Getting bothersome.

I hit it hard in the basement today. Burpees into a sandbag clean and press. Burpees into pull-ups and then lunges. Rested very little. Just enough to get it so I could stop gasping for air then crank out another round.

Finally got back to doing something. Looks like I had an upper respiratory infection and possibly mono so I've been laying low for several weeks. Sunday the weather was nice and I was itching to get out so I went for a fairly level hike with 20lb pack. Wasn't too bad so I went out again on Monday and did 3 miles with some decent climbs and 25lb pack. Felt pretty good to get out though I'm definitely short on cardio. Gonna try to hit the bike Wed and Fri and slowly get back into it.

Deads, Heavy Rows, Cable Rows and Lat Pull Downs. Figured out that a lot of my interest in powerlifting from my father was generated by his friendship with Roger Benjamin who he taught with and who taught him to lift heavy. It was interesting to find out more about him. 2000m of c2, 20 min of bike.
