My son is a big soccer fan and with the world cup coming up this summer I wanted to surprise him with a couple international jerseys. Problem is if you buy real ones, they are like $90 while the replica ones are under $25. I have not bought any of the replica ones, but am thinking about it.
Has anyone done this recently? What site did you use? What should I expect?
THANKS

The shirt's never been made that's worth $90. 2/3 of the price goes to franchise owners.

I always thing those team jerserys, regardless the sport, are way too expensive. If he'll be happy with the replica, go that route. If he just has to have the real thing, well.........

I would go with the licensed jersey's . . . they will be higher quality and last. We still have a drawer full of licensed Spanish La Liga and Premiere League jerseys we bought for our two boys when back in the 1980s . . . they are passing them on to their boys now.

$90 is probably a good price if it is the same stuff the players are wearing. Quality athletic wear that the players actually wear is expensive. And to hold up for a season it has to be. When I was coaching HS sports $50-75 was about the minimum for game gear. Many good jerseys were $150 and the $50-$75 stuff might not last an entire season. And that was buying in bulk and getting team discounts. Plus I haven't priced anything in over 8 years.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

I saw cheaper real jerseys on Amazon, but they were older colors. For example the 2015 away shirt may have a different stripes on the sleeve as a 2018 pattern. They were still expensive.
