Monday- 2.5 miles up Bar Gulch with Gunr and then spent the night at a FS cabin.
Tuesday an easy 1.5 Mile walk with Gunr in his 11th birthday.

Ed have you ever done the Refrigerator to Meriwether trail? It’s a dandy, the logistics are a bit of a pain (need a boat at the end and a vehicle at the marina). I did it a couple of years ago and want to do it again; I’d like to do it with my wife as a two day trip- 18 miles is a bit beyond her ina day.

Mike- I’ve done the Refrigerator to Meriwether several times, but it has been quite a while because it is such a pain to shuttle.
Have caught the cruise boat a couple times and I think the best trip was when we left a car at the Gates Marina and then had someone drop us at Refrigerator. After going across, the last thing I feel like doing is driving all the way back to Refrigerator to pick up a vehicle.
One other option is to go up Refrigerator and then drop down Big Log Gulch from Kennedy Springs. Less of a shuttle that way.
We did that once where I dropped my wife and son off at Refrigerator then drove down to Hunters Gulch and ran up and met them at Bear Prairie, then we hiked the rest of the way out together.
Later in the year, water can be a concern but I’ve always found reliable water at Bear Prairie and Kennedy Springs.

I was lucky, had a guy at work who was headed fishing anyways- we met at the marina and he drove us to Refrigerator and then picked us by boat later in the day, paid him well for gas- agree to far of a drive after you’ve gone 18 miles

your other option sounds good

I’ve often thought that a big loop, summiting all the major peaks in the Gates world be a worthy adventure.

He found it, he loved it. Little odd and fungal infections can get serious if they go systemic.

Swimming Sunday, 10 or so miles on the bike on Monday. Will hit it again tonight.

Mike-
My thought on the Gates circumnavigation would be to start at Refrigerator then do Moors, Candle, Willow, Sacajawea, Cap, Sawtooth, and Sheep. The majority of the route would be off trail.

Mike- I haven’t spent a lot of time with a mapping program- not sure if it could be done in a day. That was my original plan but that was when my mentality was regarding a 100k - oh, it’s only 62 miles.

I’ll look closer tonight, might have to cross off a couple of peaks off to make it viable in a day; the fact that 75-80% is off trail would need to be factored in as well- of course there’s that age thing too laugh

Last night I ran just over 8 miles along the greenbelt along my house. Tomorrow morning will be a 3.2 mile hike before work with 2200 ft of elevation gain on the way up, then turn around and head back down.

I've been slacking but trying to turn things around. Went for a 5 mile mountain bike ride last Saturday climbing about 1000 ft over the first 2 miles. My wife regularly works out and one of the classes she regularly attends is a TRX class....basically bodyweight training but utilizing ceiling mounted straps for resistance. Anyway, she got a pair for Christmas and I did a couple of upper body strength workouts this week....since I haven't done any strength training in the last couple of years my upper body is sore to say the least!
