I have a bowhunter friend that took a head-on shot on a bull (I didn't get the full story, but I think it was charging him). The arrow hit forehead and didn't penetrate very far. The bull got to him and tossed him airborne and I believe he's lucky to be alive.

Coincidentally I'm headed to Kona for work tomorrow. I'll stop in at my friend's bow shop and get the full story.

Yes, a head shot on a bull with an arrow would be less than useless. Did you ever get the details?

I'm making progress towards getting the bull skull clean and ready for mounting.

Are you tanning the hide yourself or did you send it in?

Due to time constraints I am contemplating having a local taxidermist tan both the Hawaii bull and the Water buffalo hide portions (roughly 3 feet square sections of hide). I hope to pressure wash the Water buffalo skull this weekend. The temps may be nice enough to do so.

With the section of hide tanned that I cut off the bull and had shipped with the skull from Hawaii to WI, I was able to make progress on the mount. I made a frame to staple the hide to and a hanger for the skull.

The Tiki Idol hanging on the skull was pulled from the surf on Hawaii a few days prior to the hunt.

I normally run a 2 camera set mounted to the bow. Sometime I run a 3rd cam (hand held) but in this case I was unaware the guide was also filming.
