Bearcat, This one is a 76 but has the 304 and Quadra Trac. So since I have no clue, what exactly does the Quadra Trac get me? First time jeep guy.

Well, the Quadra Trac is a variable drive system that transfers power from front to rear as the system sees fit. Mine had the optional low range planetary gear addition which was nice, shift lever was under/in front of the driver seat. It is vacuum operated so be sure all that is up to snuff, no leaks etc. Mine wasn't very good on fuel but I wasn't real concerned with that. It was a solid 4wd setup that worked great for me.

Your Jeep should have an AMC 20 rear end which was plenty strong for mine with 3.55's a locker and 31's. The only other upgrade to the axles I did was to replace the 2 piece shafts with 1 piece axles after I busted a keyway on the 2 piece first trip out of that gate.

That's true in my case. I have a Weber carb that won't let me do inclines until I get it fixed or replaced! Nice Jeeps guys.

Need a new top after 37 years. Bestop? Jeeps been running good but I found a carb man, so it'll come off and go for a look soon.

Rio, lot of rubbing compound on the wheels. They cleaned up good. New seats are so much better too. And stayed 31" on wheels to not put too much strain on various old parts. K02s will hopefully do well.

30338, Not hard to tell you put some serious TLC into it, I looked at those seats yesterday at 4 Wheel Parts in town thinking about putting them in my black 05 LK was wondering if they can handle a lot of dog and people traffic please advise me on how they hold up. for now I'm going to put my old seat covers back on the 05, had the seats recovered last year just before hunting season started in sept, they are shot now. Had two CJ5's ('79 and '82...........the '79 salvaged from a frontal rollover).
Two XJ's.
Two ZJ's
One WJ
and the ol lady has a Liberty ('04). Just turned 100k, so youngest kid gets it this summer, she's buying a newer Jeep.
No rust, leather int...............figure it'll be wrecked before school starts LOL.

I had a 98 ZJ for about a decade that had pretty much every part less the chassis replaced at least once. Here it is shortly before I sold it. Upgrades that I can recall

4.5" of lift, Clayton's long-arms
HP dana 30 front with 4.56s, open
Ford 8.8 rear with 4.56s, locked
Built 4.0 (cam, head work, upgraded intake, header, etc.)
Hanson front bumper with Engo ES 9k winch
285/70/17 BFG KM2s

I went with the 36-38" waist size seats for motivation to keep working out. They seem like a quality product but we'll see how the hold up. Will be dogs in and out as well here. Will keep you posted on how they do. Bikini top eventually on it but these will get a lot of water and uv on them so hard to say.

So popped off the front and rear diff covers yesterday. Kind of nasty milk shake looking stuff in the front diff and rear diff looked more like chocolate syrup. No telling when these were serviced last. This was one of the reasons I didn't want to drive this one much till I got the fluids changed out.

Got the mating services all cleaned well and a new gasket for the rear. Going to attempt my first differential sealing later today. Have the diff fluid ready to load once those are cured. Next up is transmission and quadra trac fluids if it goes well today.
