Hello, I got back from my LGS over lunch and they had a pristine Model 77 on the shelf for $425. It is the tube fed version, which I read is more collectible then the box mag version. Does anyone have one and is the price he's asking on par or a good deal? Was looking for a semi-auto 22lr for squirrel hunting and wanted something a little fancier then the 10/22s that everyone else uses. Any feedback appreciated, thanks! Steve

I think he's 50-75 high, If you have to squeeze every dollar out of it. If not, buy it. They aren't making any more of them. I'm not a fan of the trigger but then again its a .22. I have a clip fed 77, pristine in my opinion which I paid 275 for. I think the tube is worth 50-100 premium. I would rather have a tube. Most would I think.

Dad bought one new for me quite inexpensively... In the fifties! Can't contribute as to price. Just the remark we could never get it to feed properly including with a trip back to Winchester. As a collectible, likely little concern!

I know where a shooter grade one is now and the guy is asking 350 and not budging. Been for sale for awhile.

This is an awesome sight...I have a couple of old Winchester .22s...one is a model 74 that belonged to my Dad's Dad and the other is my Mom's tube fed model 77. Both were made in the '40s if I remember correctly and it's good to see discussions of value although I don't see a situation where I would sell either one of them. My only problem is who will get them when I get done with them....as one of five with a plethora of nieces, nephews and grandkids (none for me yet) I have to decide who is likely to keep and cherish and who is likely to sell at the drop of the hat. I have a sister that will sell at the drop of the hat if she can make a buck, but her son does have a sentimental side, so I will likely skip her....
