What is it about the 220 swift that gets everyone's attention?

I fought hard on an auction, for a Win Pre 64 in 220 Swift. It had the heavy barrel, and had never been fired..Just a beautiful rifle. I went $2650 before giving up. $3225 won it. I wasn’t even close to owning it...😢

I saw that pic, and your comment was absolutely spot on.

A fine composition, and the Spring season background still looked like the barren, polar ice cap.

If one didn't know they were April dogs, a guy would calculate them to be January specimens. Beautiful pelts...

I coulda traded a guy I work with my 10x42 Swarovskis 15-20 years ago for that same rifle, binoculars were more important so I didn’t, still kick myself in the azz....

Hi Beaver 10 that is the exact 220 swift that I bought in the early 60's. I bought it used for $300.00 and it had a 15x unertal ultra varmint scope on it, for that time period it was the ultimate Pennsylvania groundhog rifle. Back then there were many groundhog hunters in Pennsylvania today not so much except for me, last year I shot 64 and the year before 104. Sadly I don't have that swift any more or any for that matter, today I use a few .223's a 22x47 Lapua a 22-250 and .204 Ruger.
