Anyone use IMR 4166 in a 22-250 AI and 55 grain bullets? How did it work out for you?

I prefer classic.

I’d be interested to hear as well. I used IMR 4895 to fireform and it worked great. I’ve been trying to pick a powder for the full AI loads. Looking at MR-2000, RL-16, IMR-4166, IMR-4451

Varget works very, very well with the 55's, amazing speed, and bug holes.

Where I live, Win 760 is my go to powder due to moderate climate.

To what extent is 22-250 AI load data interchangeable with 220 Swift? Seems like it is a lot easier to find Swift data.

I was told to start with Swift data, to work up loads for my 22-250 AI, since they are basically ballistic twins, and have the same case capacity.

My favorite powder for my last 22-250AI , 9" twist, was with VV N140/ Hornady 68gr OTM. It burned "much cooler" than anything I tried before, with great velocity too. I could shoot 3 rounds and the barrel would only be hot just past the chamber. Any other powder I tried, while I got both accuracy/speed, the barrel would hot all the way out! Just something that was important to me. I also agree, use Swift data.
