Ed- so far I really like it. It’s not going to replace a heavy hauler, but for day hunts I think it will be a dandy. It’s very compact, but with a little presto changeo, you can haul a load out to your truck. With antelope and lots of deer, a one in done trip. Construction is top notch as you’d expect from MR, possibly a little over built, but with hunting packs not all bad.

I would have loved to have had this pack when I lived in Eastern Montana hunting deer and antelope.

Constipation maybe?

How did we get on this crappy subject?

Hitting the Elliptical with the pack on with the terrain setting... I just know it hurts, lol...

nice to leave that 45 lb pack at home smile. went to the gym Wendler week 16, a DW-load week squats 5/5/5 @75%, bench 5/5/5&75%- I paused a full 3 seconds at the bottom of the squats and bench- that makes a relatively easy lift hard! pull-ups

Did Day 2 of the Functional Fitness for the Mountain Hunter from pnwild with 10 lbs in my pack. Tomorrow will be 45 minutes on the elliptical with 40lbs in the pack in the morning, then a couple hours on the mountain bike on some technical trails after work!

Indoor road bike on Sunday at "The Dome" on Sunday AM, then about 45 minutes of swimming in the afternoon.

30 minutes of swimming yesterday - need to start working in some running and a little bit of lifting.

Went back out for a couple hours yesterday. This isn't "chopping", it was cutting and bucking. My hands were barely functional by the end. Went through almost two gallons of gas for my saws. Seriously sore today. smile

The big shop project I've mentioned landing starts next week so I'm trying to make headway on this while I can. Planning on starting splitting today but it is truly grim weather out there.

The fir in particular was huge, and there will be some serious "squat" type lifting just to get the rounds up onto a splitting block.

I'm remembering how perfectly-timed this big burst of exercise is every year. End of the winter, feeling a bit "soft".... well then, go out and cut, split, and stack 3-4 cords of wood, young lad! You won't be feeling soft after. smile

On the "young lad" note my wife has always said that one of these years I'd decide I was too old to do this anymore. I will rail against that dark night.

Wow, great vid. I guess I will get back on my diet and increase training and conditioning. Too bad the hard things are so...hard.

Cardio today, 40 minutes of intervals on the stationary bike with a little more intensity, and then 10 minutes on the ski erg machine.
