Thanks. I was wondering if there was a better deal going than joining target sports. I want to buy a bunch of different bricks and some cases over the next year.

Drypowder: The answer IS - go to Wal-Mart and buy the Federal 550 round bulk packs!
I have been using this ammo for a LONG time now and its accurate, fairly cleaning running (in my semi-auto's), very lethal on small Varmints and small game and is going for about 3.8 cents a round!
Good luck with whichever you choose.

Sadly that ship has left the port.....

Went to Whatamart this morning and by golly, they had a couple boxes. Snag! First I've seen there, and I check every time I go.

Hope it's better than the RedBox bulk I bought during Obama Panic 1. That stuff had a bunch of FTFs.

Thanks, BH.

Check out www.ammoseek.com

They list ammo prices from all over. In the 22lr section Aguila standard velocity will be among the least expensive. In the past it's been very accurate for the price. The biggest drawback to some of the sellers is shipping cost, ya gotta watch some of them.

Not all Federal bulk pack ammo is created equally.

Yes- the Federal 550 Hollow point bulk pack is just about as schitty as the bulk Remington / Winchester crap it is made to compete with. But- I have found the 325rd Federal Auro Match to be accurate ,reliable stuff and just about as cheap as Blazers, etc.

Well I've found the 325 packs of Federal auto match to be junk. That's universal through all 6 of my .22 rifles. None of the bulk ammo is anything great. Remington is the worst with the Winchester 333 and 555 bulk packs not far behind but Blazers aren't great either. You want good ammo you gotta pay for it period.

Gotta agree on the crappiness of most bulk. Once I get a couple FTFs out of a box it goes in the handgun supply. Still have some Winchester bulk from the same era as my Fed red box, but it's pretty reliable, if not especially accurate.

I got an ugly surprise when I tried some of that newer Winchester stuff that's supposed to compete with Velociters, an absolute dud that failed even when rotated in the chamber a couple times. I can't remember any CCI duds at all, though I suppose it may have happened at some point.
