Late springs make me think of the old Paul Bunyan tale, "The Year of the Two Winters." Instead of summer one year, winter started over again.

I once heard that you state was settled by Norwegian wanderers who could no longer bear the blistering heat of our winters...

You aren't alone. Northern Michigan feels your pain, as well. If we don't get a summer I may need to invest in some Texas property.

More snow today... not that I am in a rush for the mosquito hatch, but this winter is getting awfully long in the tooth. Got that email from the DNR yesterday about some of the UP deer herd taking it on the chin.

If there is too much carbon in the system, it is because the growing season for vegetation is getting shorter...

I actually think central and eastern WI got more than MN. But I measured they yard at 3pm yesterday and the snow depth was 13” and we got 4 more after that. There is a drift in my yard that is about 4’ deep.

I wish that I would have showed the kid how to use the roof rake before I left. Sweetness showed me a picture of 6-7 foot deep drifts from the high winds covering highway 54 east of town. Needless to say they are doing some serious snow removal back home with everything closed. Another watch out is that the high drifts are covering people's furnace exhausts with so many of the high efficiency furnace outlet ones being low to the ground. A really good thing to check on for you northern guys right now.
