"Wind River"..... Helluva movie. Usually when one sees a guy reloading ammo in a movie, he's the bad guy.
Refreshing change from that.... Looks good. Where's his bow?

I think Costner did a good job in Dances with Wolves And: A Perfect World
3,000 Miles to Graceland
Bull Durham
Tin Cup
Open Range
A Perfect World is a really underrated movie.

I thought Costner was excellent as Devil Anse in the Hatfields and McCoys.
He's not always great though...

Yep- Perfect World is one of the few Kostner movies I liked. Open Range was very good, and Kostner was good in it - maybe his best ever, but the Irish villain dude and Robert Duvall had a little something to do with my liking it so well.
Dances with wolves could be great but his monologues were like listening to a coach Garret interview for the Cowboys. Will have to check out Wind River.

Thought I might catch it 'till someone compared it to the extremely poor Longmire series ....(.45/70 sniper rifle). Although John Hinson used a 41" barreled 50cal, 17 lb rifle to shoot the hell out of the union officers. soldiers in the Civil War.
Looks like too much Hollywood for my interest.
Hinson is someone they should make a movie about

I saw it last week and really liked it. Can't say I bought the part where a guy with a lever gun got 2-3 shots off so fast, but that's a quibble about an otherwise good flick. i donna know about that, i have a slicked up marlin guide gun that is like the one in the movie, cept blued. You can work it pretty darn quick. i was shooting some big river rock one day with a ar15, left little spots on the rock. I switched to the marlin, the rocks became fragmentation devices, just really wacked them when those 400grain lead slugs hit them. I don't know what they would do shooting into a man, but don't think they would get up.

Jeremy Renner got a little carried away with the case mouth reamer. Those tools are sharp, as we all know. It only takes a few turns to adequately ream the case mouth. It's been a few months. But yes, that scene left an impression. I remember hollering at Momma, WTF doesn't he know what a case trimmer is for? I also appreciated that all problems on "the Rez" were not the fault of "White Eyes".

They should spend some time in the Pennsylvania Woods and watch those old boys with their pump action automatics. Heck, have they never watched Chuck Connors, or Steve McQueen with their handy lever actions. Seriously, Dad could get off aimed shots as fast with his 760, as most can with an autoloader. And I frequently practice ringing a series of diners with my Marlin 1894.

He didn't use the 45/70 on the coyotes. Did any of you actually watch the movie?

Good call on the movie.
Had never heard of it but watched it today on some downtime.
One of the very few new movies I’ve watched and actually enjoyed.

Great movie and scenery!
Go live in an Alaskan village or near a Reservation for awhile... the depiction of modern life as usual kind of hit the nail on the head for a lot of people. Sadly.

Flave, thanks for reminding me of "A Perfect World"; great flick! A forgotten classic for sure.

I started watching this series Black Lightining and it’s not at all what I expected. The dude doesn’t even work for the electric company.

Been awhile since I saw it, liked it too. Did he saw why he was using a 45-70 for coyotes? I watched it again last night. He used a bolt gun on the coyotes.

I thought it was a pretty good show. Watched it at the theater when it came out.
And I thought some of the situations depicted defied logic and reality. But then a lot of real life does as well.

Yowsa! And the "usual" problems common to villages (don't know about reservations), seemed about as well-portrayed as one might make them. Wife is a life-long village gal ,and I have half that time out there....... we were naming the characters with locality specific names. Could have been people we know.
