Mike- Cyn and I hit Backcountry Outfitters today and snagged her a Western Mountaineering 10F bag. Seems sweet! She looked at the WM 20F bag, and also quilts, but she sleeps cold and this is hopefully "the bag" for the next couple decades so I convinced her to go with the 10F bag even though it's several ounces heavier. Anyway, thanks for your advice.

I think that’s a great choice; Marmot made (maybe still does) women specific bags within the same model line- their women’ bags were obviously a little shorter, BUT they had more ounces of fill than the larger men’s bag. Bottom line, women tend to sleep a little cooler than men and should be taken into consideration.

Easy 8 mile ride last night and an easy (or at least slow) nautical mile of swimming today.

8.25 miles on our local 12k course; race is next weekend- normally run the 30k, but it’s too close to the Bob Open this year, so will run the 12k instead- it’s a challenging course with a lot of climbing

Core workout in the form of 6 hours on a choppier-than-forecast Pacific ocean in my little boat. smile

Got our limits of ling cod. Biggest was 29". You certainly know you did something at the end of a day getting tossed around.

Went fishing this weekend. Lots of walking but the only time the heart rate got elevated was when I caught that big brown......

I did a 1.5 mile hike yesterday with 25lb pack. According to the Garmin, 1000ft of elevation. Kicked my butt.
Aside from the plague I was fighting, it turns out my vocal cords are not opening, probably nerve damage from the radiation treatments. Doc says I'm operating at 1/5th of normal airway opening. Was at Cleveland Clinic last week and have appt in Phlly on the 14th.

While frustrating, at least I'm still on the right side of the grass. On a positive note, I was able to get a MT surplus elk combo tag.

20 miles snowshoeing on Sunday. Scouting our starting route for the Bob Marshall Open in three weeks. With record snow fall this winter and a very late spring, it’s likely to prove the most challenging Open to date. We could only make up the road so far and had to snowshoe 3 miles just to get to the trailhead. The North Fork of the Blackfoot was raging, as were it’s tribs. I think the numerous fords will prove even more troublesome than the snow.
