I bought a brand new Bear Kodiak Hunter bow in 1971 while in the military and, for various reasons...principally due to various assignments back then... I never used it. When I finally got to a time and place I could reasonably take up archery hunting again, I bought a compound hunting bow which I have used since that time. In short, I have this nice Bear bow that I have never even strung in 47 years and it's still in the box it came in. Any idea what the bow should be worth if I decide to sell it???

Lots of variables as far as value. Shoot me the details and pics (if possible) and I can give you a pretty good idea of the value.

It will likely be better if it has been stored flat rather than vertical with weight sitting on one limb, unless the box prevented the limb from being stressed.

Kodiak Hunter would be in the 150-$200 range. Go to stickbow leatherwall.com a traditional bow website. Ask about pricing over there.

If it was a 1959-1962 Kodiak Special in amo 62-68” length or an early 1960’s rosewood riser in amo 64”, then it would command a higher price. A 1970’s amo 60” Kodiak Hunter, $175+/-. They are good bows, but not the fastest, and Don’t have the “ magic mojo” associated with the other Bear Kodiak bows mentioned.

But, do some research. Check eBay past sales. Good luck.

IIRC they, if like the K mags, fetch less in green vs brown.
As for eBay......have seen nice bows fetch an OK price and later same vintage, in lesser shape..........get more.
Never know.
