There doesn't seem to be much data with RL 22 and 150 grain bullets lots with 19 though.Anyone pushing 150 with 22.Got a box of NP 150 grainers would love to try with 22.Maybe the burn rate is too slow?

I shot IMR 4350 and IMR 4831 with 150's and got good velocities. Most burn charts show RL19 as being slightly slower than 4831. RL22 is much slower.
Now with even more aplomb

I haven't loaded for my 300 Winnie for a while now but I do remember the cases were pretty much slam full of RL-22 under 180 grain bullets. So I would look elsewhere if I were to start up again using 150s.

H 4350 is the powder you need to generate full factory specs with 150's in the .300 Winchester. The others you mention are too slow burning to achieve this.

I too would go with H4350 and or H4831.
Of the 19 and the 22 I'd just have to try em both, but I'd be for betting on the 19.

I am useing 76 gr. of rl22 and the 150 gr. accubond with great success in my .300 win mag sendero heavy barrel. Shoots .5 in @ 100yds. I don't know what it cronos ,I don't have one . I'm strictly guessing at about 3200fps . If any body has cronographed this load I sure would like to know. I caught wind and weather conditions right one day and did a 4 inch group at 600 yds. The gun has a 4.5 to 14 burris ballistiplex on it that helps a lot . The rl 22 also works real good on 165 smk's at .5 in. at 100yds. folks tell me the rl22 can differ in lot but I have not seen it yet. Try it I think you will like it and the 150s. Sometimes western NE requires some LR shooting on deer . It does a good job on them . Wayles

Mike, H4831sc works best for me in 300 Win mag with 150's. I have hand loaded for my 300win for about 6years and have shot every bullet and powder made I think {lol} and H4831sc is awesome in the 300win.. RL..

STW: If you want to try a really neat light bullet load in the 300 Win Mag,I used the 130 Barnes XLC (no longer made?but there may be a triple shock) and worked to the Barnes manual max of 82.5 of H4350, which gave in MY Barrel (24" M70)velocities of right at 3700 fps (yes I chronographed it several times). It shot flat and accurate to 500 yards. Zeroed 3" high at 100, it impacted about 12" low at 500;accurate too. Scary load.

BobinNH The 130 TSX has caught my eye. With that bullet not losing any weight it be a good long range laser.Wonder about wind drift?

Wind drift is always an issue. One of the reasons I just don't understand the use of light for caliber bullets for long shots. And due to the exteme destruction they create. I'd be thinking 150s for a yote round in my 300s... I've done deer with them and the results are messy to say the least. But the head shots are impressive.
BTW MV makes up for BC as to wind drift, but run the figures, any number of good ballistics programs out there for free on the net. Enter MV, and BC and away you go to compare. All the bullet companies have BC info, and most powder companies can give assumed MV speeds that give you at least an idea.

STW:Can't comment on wind drift since I am not much good at figuring it; but these TSX bullets are different. Given the flight time I doubt the load would me much worse or better than the big 7's under most conditions. A friend in Boise tells me Lazzaroni uses a version of this same bullet in the Warbird, driven to 4000 fps(!)and has shot elk through the shoulders with it.
I was so impressed by the trajectory that I SOLD the rifle; from that standpoint it made evrything else I owned obsolete. Think about it; 3" high at 100, only 12" low to 500?! The midrange got a little higher than I liked so I had to tweak it down; but I still ended up only about 15-16 low at 500. There are VERY FEW combos in the tables that will show those trajectories. With mule deer, you're holding on hair to about 450!

Jeff: Do you think the TSX would eliminate some of that fragmentation problem ie bullet blowup?
