I read so many positive things about the Creedmoor accuracy and ability to kill at distance. Is it only a natural progression to become the future hunters do everything, go to round for everything in N. America except brown bear? Well maybe, even dangerous game like brown bear or African lion from safe distances, with it's accuracy one could call shots behind the ear or between the eyes without blowing up the trophy?

UUMM, No. It's not military, has not been around that long, does not do anything that several other older established rounds already do. Is it a very good round? Yes.

I don't think it'll be steppin into the shoes of the .30-06 anytime soon but I bet it'll put a serious dent in future sales of 7mm-08's and .243's among deer hunters.

OK, it's used by the military but no way is it mainstream issued to all. I agree, it is a great round with many benefits. Would I hunt grizzles with it? What is it's advantage over a 6.5X55 in a modern rifle? .260, 6.5-06, 7X57, on and on. YEP tacticool is what I really want and no I'm not quite 72 yet. However I have killed a few deer, and several other critters with 20+ in the military.

I looked at Nosler's online data. The 6.5 Creed doesn't do anything the 7mm-08 won't do.

Why would you use a newfangled 30-06 when a 30-30 will do?

Ok, I'll bite. Do you think a question like that is a little or maybe a lot presumptuous? That would be the day I go after Grizzly with a cartridge such as the 6.5 CM. Great cartridge but .......

Doubt it’ll even come close to reaching 30-06 status....but I have gone after and grizzly bear with one and it died just as easy as ones I have seen killed with 243, 7-08, and 308 so yeah I would go grizzly hunting with it and did.

Awful damned hard to beat the .30-'06 in the hunting field. It just plain kills sh1t and the average Joe can handle the recoil. What's not to like?
Literally every African critter I've killed, like fifty-two of them, were with the .30-'06. Duiker to eland ... the .30-'06 just plain gets the job done.

I think that the combination of premium bullets and laser range finders enable the Creedmore to punch way above what it would have a generation ago..... I've worked with 2 of them now and both are amazingly accurate. I like that I can shoot one at paper or steel targets as much as I want without getting worn out like I do with harder recoiling rifles.....
I'm expecting it's popularity to continue to grow.
Please don't feed the trolls!

In 50 years we will be lucky if we even have a country, let alone one that Respects the Consititution...therefore your question is benign, as is your thought process.

Well maybe, even dangerous game like brown bear or African lion from safe distances, with it's accuracy one could call shots behind the ear or between the eyes without blowing up the trophy? WT? 1) Long distance hunting is a teeny-tiny fraction of the overall picture. 2) Accuracy is more a matter of the Indian rather than the arrow. The average hunter in CONUS is a whitetail deer hunter. He shoots a deer inside 80 yards. He is lucky to be able to hit a pie-plate offhand at 50 yards. Judging from my interactions with the folks that used to write into Deer & Deer Hunting, he's got a minimal understanding of concepts like Point Blank Range and Scope Parallax. He has a hard time discerning distances over 100 yards and compensates for holding over the deer's back. I really don't see where the Creed is going to fit into that scenario. Take 3 big Whitetail states: IN, IA, and OH. Indiana just went from a limited PCR-type restriction to an anything-243-and larger restriction. There is a huge market there for new deer rifles. 6.5 Creedmore is not even on the shelves. Most people are buying .308 WIN, 30-06 and 270 WIN, and 243 WIN Ohio just came out of the Stone Age and is allowing straightwall 35 cal and larger rifles. The big sellers there are 44 Mag and 45-70. Iowa's new law is similar to Ohio's-- 35 cal and larger straightwall cartridges. These are the 3 big new markets for centerfire hunting rifles. 6.5 Creedmore is not in the running in 2 of the 3. In the one place where it is legal, it's sales are negligible. Kentucky, where I'm at, I have not seen 6.5 Creedmore in the stores. The ammo is not stocked at Walmart.

I see them at the range in AR paper punchers throughout the year, but have not yet seen one show up at the pre-deer season sight-in days that I help my range run.
