Has anybody made .250 Savage cases by running a 6.5CM (or 6mm CM) into a .250 Savage FL die?

Ok. Maybe no one has done it, but would it work? Would the blown out Creedmoor case squash down to the tapered Savage case?
Anybody see any issues arising?

Yes it should but it can be a lot of work and you need a pretty hefty press. You might have to anneal the neck and shoulder but brass is pretty malleable. You can make them with just about any brass with a .473 case head, if you can get 22-250 cases there in Oz they are the easiest. And the Hornady brass is very good--the best factory .250-3000 brass I've seen in a long time.

And no potential for the dreaded doughnut when forming from 22-250 brass like I experienced when using COW fire-forming!

Because over here it can be almost impossible to find at times. I have made it from 22-250 cases but just wondering about other options.

I have made it from 7.62x51 brass but, not much juice for the squeeze!

If you can get this shipped to OZ it would be worth it. http://www.lapua.com/en/reloading-components/cases/22-250-remingtonHave not used the Hornaday but the Lapua can sometimes be reloaded twice as many times as some other brass so it defrays the cost some. Shell forming is time consuming and can create other issues like donuts and the need to anneal more often. 243 cases would work as the necking up reduces the chance of donuts but you may have to neck turn or ream because the shorter 250 case will have some of the thicker 243 brass in the shoulder and neck area.

I'd just buy Hornady .250 Savage brass.
I have no complaints about Hornady brass.
