Getting ready to handload a 280 Remington with the 139 Hornady GMXs. Using Remington brass. Rifle has 22” barrel. Any comments, suggestions, experiences appreciated. Is Reloader 26 and good option for this combo?

57gns of RL19 worked as good as any in my Ruger M77 .280Rem. 140gn Nosler Accubonds averaged around 2900fps.

I agree with Bingo. Re19 has given me the highest velocity with 140gn bullets in my 22" .280 (2929 fps) and 150gn bullets in my 23" 7x64 (2834 fps). H4350 and H4831sc were also good with the same accuracy but just a little behind Re19 velocity wise.

However much your gun can absorb...............probably between 56-59 gr depending on the gun.

I have 2 right now that will eat the 59 gr, but it may be too much in some guns.

And I would surely pick another bullet if you like small groups..................140 AB, 140 NBT, 140 Partition & 140 TSX / TTSX have all proven accurate in several 280's for me.

If the 139 gr GMX don't group well try the 140 gr Barnes TTSX. I had much better luck loading Barnes bullets out of my Rem 700 280.
