At the show I saw a number of 99's, but most were strictly shooter condition, lots of recoil pads and side mount drill and tap with top dollar prices. Suprisingly there were a few nice WWII Japanese Type 99 with fair prices.
There was a nice 99F, tang safety, gold trigger in 358. Bluing was about 95+ percent, clean wood, I think it had a Weaver K4........Only 1800.00 I was salivating over what I think was an EG?(schnabel forearm 518XXX) It was 250-3000 which is why I wanted it. But I couldn't bring myself to pay 450 as it had a cracked stock, no bluing on the receiver and what bluing was on the barrel was patina/brown. Everything I usually see in my area is 300 savage caliber, so when I see a 250 it's hard to walk away, even if the condition is poor. I guess I'll just keep on looking....Scott

I just like all guns with "99" on them. Kidding, thats why I started a new paragraph when describing the 358. I have far more Type 99's than Savage 99's, but enjoy hunting with and shooting both.....Scott

Hi Scott, you mentioned on the post a few days ago about the 99 f in 358 at the Redding gun show. Funny thing, it belongs to a friend of mine. Its at my house now, I am probably going to put some pics of it on the Savage collectors forum. Price is $1899.00! Too much $ for me , but a real nice rifle. Just thought I would pass that along, have a good day, Ken
