I thought it had something to people from Latin America countries where coffee beans were harvested. So calling a Latino a beaner is racist but calling a white person a cracker isn't?

Around my kids' school, a "Beaner," meant something like what "Preppie" used to mean back in my day.
Instead of Izod alligators, these Preppies wore all stuff that had come from L.L. Bean. It was Preppie with glamping overtones-- faux outdoorsy.
