I was wondering if it was possible to rebore a 22-250 Winchester featherweight to a 250 Savage?
It may be cheaper to just find a 257 Roberts in a Featherweight but a 250 savage would still be a sweetheart Whitetail rifle.
any ideas on the cost of such an endeavor? Would you have to set the barrel back enough that it would mess up the barrel inletting?
Thanks!

Probably have to set the barrel back and possibly end up having to rechamber to the 250 Ackley Improved to clean up the factory chamber too. I don't think I've heard of anyone who rebores/rechambers for the small bores. I suppose they're out there but I haven't read any advertising for them.

vs a rebarrel from say ER Shaw? and then sell the 22.250 barrel if you don't want to keep it...

just thinking cost... the Shaw barrels I've had are as accurate as any factory barrel and usually better...

I would recommend contacting Oregunsmithing (Wayne York). Just spoke with Jess at JES reboring last week. Good rep and very pleasant fellow to talk with. However, 338" is the smallest bore diameter he will work with. Classic Barrel (Dan Pederson?) is not taking any new work at the moment. Oregunsmithing quoted approx $350 to rebore, rifle and chamber a barrel. Approx 3 month turn around.

Wanted a .250 ai.
Bought a barrel from the goat on here and had Mel set me up.
What a blast to shoot.....no recoil and I'm using up a bunch of 90 gr. Coppers I had on had.
