...the Eagle and the Hawk...just may be my favorite song ever.
Written as if rushing and diving, then gliding on the winds like in flight, the undulating melody is fantastic.
Like youre surveying the wide open spaces from great altitude through the eyes of the raptors.

Saw him in concert around 1980 One man show, rotating small stage. Some hecklers/drunks..........he handled them well, without being mean. Good show too.
use to sing his songs to myself, when I was in Basic Training, doing Brigade Guard Duty... or Fire Patrol.... helped me get thru all the BS, kept me mellowed out and calm when things were haywire....
Lotta good memories...even if he was kinda nerdy....
I thank Home Again, was the one I sang to myself the most...
didn't make me think of home so much, as planning to move to Colorado after the Army... which never happened tho....
took me to Washington and eventually Oregon instead...

Did several shows with him, spent an hour or so shooting the poop, after the NY Statue of Liberty show in 1986. Was waiting for a boat off of Liberty Island after the show, and he just hung around backstage. He usually shared my music, since I was short, a tenor, on the end of the front row, and liked trout fishing. I found him very genuine. What you saw onstage, was really him.
