Anybody ever use the Ship My Gun service through Buds? I'm going to sell off a dozen, or so, and was looking for some Campfire feedback. My LGS wanted $60 bucks, plus shipping. From what I can gather it seems you recognize some pretty good shipping savings.

Why? You can ship guns yourself, 100% legally. There is absolutely no good reason to spend money on their "services."

My understanding is you get a sizable saving on the shipping costs due to their heavy shipping volume.

I've used it to send a handgun. It was much cheaper using their rate. At the time I used them it seemed like they would send me a box for my handgun to use with the label they would provide. They actually sent me just the label as an email attachment. The other thing to note is they have certain FFL dealers already in their database. The dealer I wanted to send to was not part of their already existing database. Originally they said their would be a week or so delay. But I called them and they were able to add the FFL in a day or so.

Why pay a gun shop anything? Especially long guns? I question the ability of Bud's to personally check the serial numbers of guns run through their business of they do not have them in hand...

With handguns shipping cannot go through USPS unless there is an FFL at each end. FLAT RATE box is the cheapest way to ship a handgun...

Yes, call around if it is like this area someone not far will for actual shipping cost plus $20.
That is cheaper than UPS for me.

A non FFL person can ship a pistol to another out of state FFL . An individual cannot use USPS to ship a pistol to a FFL out of state or repair facility.

Not to mention my local dealer will charge me a "Fee" plus shipping. I can take a pistol to FEDEX or UPS here and they act like I am dropping off a suitcase bomb.

Yes I know all that, I meant the difference in shipping cost UPS or FedX.

They look to be quite cheaper then either. I calculated sending a handgun worth 700 to a dealer near my brothers home. It was UPS next day 109.38 , it was 49.38 for the Fedex label from Ship My GUN.

Just shipped a Vaquero, insured for $500 for $39, including twenty bucks to the local FFL, doubt it would be cheaper for me.

Still have no idea cost difference UPS or FedX but it doesn't really matter

My local dealer usually ships a pistol for around 50-60 and that is USPS ground.

I have used them a number of times and they save substantial money in shipping costs and are a painless way to ship from a non-FFL, particularly handguns.

Probably a good idea for folks to avoid them.
