I don’t think there is any bad bullets made now, but the guys on the lease won’t buy Hornady Ammo. They have lost deer when they have used them. They call them Hornaduds. It’s probably their marksmanship.

I knew a guy (30 years ago) that shot 130's out of a 300 WinMag. He always said it was a bang flop.

Must be the toughness of the TX deer because I have used Hornady going on 2 decades almost exclusively.
In fact between the 165BTSP and 168 AMAX I have probably taken 90% of nearly 175-200 deer.
I can count one one hand the number lost and of that I'd say they were all my fault.
Hornady makes a fantastic whitetail bullet. I'm not saying deer....I'm not including the Canadian monsters or elk. But up to 225 # and out to 440 yards the Hornady have served me well.
And for the price I can actually shoot what I hunt with all year.
